Bay bee gooSo this happens once every few months. Went down to Connecticut this weekend to visit a friend and promptly fell in love. Culprit in question — her 1.5 year old kid. Now this kid is much like every other kid at his age — cute, chirpy, innocent eyes, big smile, messy mop of hair, drools like crazy etc. You know, the works. Which, as most people who know me will tell you, is enough in itself for me to be smitten. But the little tyke called me Mayguh moush. (That’s Megha mausi in case you wondered). That’s it. I was sold. I mean, cmon, who can resist THAT!
So after many hours of crawling on my fours, drawing pictures, achembling building blocks, being taught that all animals live in the ocean but Mickey Moush (yes, a distant relative of Megha moush) lives in Orlando, nodding wisely and replying goo blah bloo to his blah di glum, being fed poy (poori) by lil grubby hands and listening to I’m a lil teapot for the forty-fifth time, suffice it to say that I’m one happy bunny!
*sigh* :)

hmm new rival for minnie moush? 3 questions..
1)Does Mickey moush date relatives albeit distant?
2) Mickey moush is kinda old 100+ me thinks…so does it mean mayguh moush prefers old moush?
3) prepost? or post post or real time post?
okay dont go about calling me a rat for bringing out your secret crush on Mickey!
P.S. there seems to be some species confusion…or u a moush or a bunny?
P.S.S 3 excuses 1)cartoonish comments have no logic..2) this is an ungodly hour comment..3) ETC Excuses ;-)

Sweet. This was a baby-licious weekend for me as well. Got to see my 4 month ol’ niece after almost 3 weeks. And boy, was I floored by the smile she gave me. It wasnt just a smile, it was a pure loud gurgling laugh, and no man, can not fall for that. And, this laugh and ‘goo-goo’ went well into the evening. I’ve gone totally ‘ga ga’ over my niece’s ‘goo goo’:)

A few years ago, me too fell in love :)
We were at this wedding reception of the son of my father’s colleague. There was this other friend of my dad’s there, who’d brought along his two year old daughter.
I spent almost the entire first couple of hours at the wedding, wooing her. (Other than the fact that she was so cute, I also didn’t know anyone else at the party). She would shyly look away, and not even say a word. Which I, of course, found highly endearing.
Then my mom said something about going home, so I went back to the kid and said “Bye bye” in the most kid-like voice I could manage, walking away and waving my hands.
This time, she “Bye bye” too! Oh, I can still here her voice ring like sweet bells in my ears. It was like that moment in Friends when Ross hears Ben saying something for the first time. Only better :) I convinced my mom to stay a little longer and played with her for over an hour after that :D
Then of course, there was my colleague’s eighteen-month-old daughter a few months ago. We were at someone’s kid’s birthday party, and this girl and her twin brother were occupying too much of their parents’ time. Seeing as she was already eighteen, I borrowed her for an hour, singing Kishore Kumar and Mohammad Rafi songs :) She didn’t smile all that much, but I can say that I had all her attention. (Alright, so maybe all that time she was thinking “What are those weird sounds coming from this guy’s throat?” but I had her attention nonetheless.)
Kids… sigh…

[iii] Arreyy! What part of my gushing over a kid implied that I was in love with Mickey Mouse? :> Tsk tsk, some people I tell ya! Nice pun on the rat though! :)
ps .. think I posted this one on time, for a change!
[Hifzur] Glad to hear that you spent some quality time with your niece! Just wait and watch.. she’ll only get cuter by the day! :)
[Rajesh] When kids looks at you wide-eyed while you make a fool of yourself to entertain them, there’s no telling what they’re thinking at that moment. What we’d like to believe is of course — Man, this is one cool adult! He really knows how to relate to my baby fundas! .. but the reality is probably closer to — Aha! I have successfully reduced this guy to a blubbering idiot thanks to my big innocent eyes. Think if I mutter something cute he’ll fall for it and buy me that big stuffed Pooh I saw in the mall yesterday? But what the heck, its still so much fun! :)
[Jupe] Yeah, from what i’ve seen, sometime around 6 years they move from being ultimately cute to being ultimately annoying. But till then .. its bliss!

[b.] I have no clue if you’re gonna come back to read this response. For that matter, I have no clue why you chose an ancient post of mine to comment on. But then again, I have no clue about most things in life, so this is no different.
I am glad that discussions about me have led to such positive conclusions. I am a glutton when it comes to praise and hence always happy to be thought of as charming. Charming with the ‘g’ though. Without the ‘g’ I’d just be a diaper and that wouldn’t be much fun, I suppose. Also, I shall patiently wait for this mega-manuscript of a love letter. If nothing, I will learn some chaste Gult in the process. Hopefully it’ll be mailed along with a Gult-to-Megha English dictionary though? Would be most disappointing, if not.
