The clouds are here
All rested, relaxed and more annoyingly chirpy than before. The break was most wonderful — I got to unwind, see places, spend time with family, catch up with friends and other warm and gooey stuff that vacations are supposed to be about. I also took pictures, but the camera and I didn’t see eye to eye on most things, so what I have instead are pictures of blurry lights, a sad-looking plant desperately in need of watering and my niece’s elbow. If you are curious, some of these might find their way onto this blog in the coming months, so worry not.
Now that I am here, the nonsense cannot be too far behind. I also plan to catch up on responses to comments on previous posts and the doodleboard, as well. Of course, there’s the minor matter of digging my way out of my Inbox and accepting invitations to enhance certain body parts, donating money to a Nigerian dictator who cannot be named and forwarding the good luck chain letters to twenty-five of my unsuspecting friends. Now you know why I saved the email address of my erstwhile roommate-from-hell. But right after I am done with all that, the blogging shall resume.
The monsoons have just about arrived back home in desh, and dense clouds hover over Boston today. And the me has returned. Call it silly, but I love these little coincidences. Thank you all for continuing to read my blog even while I was gone.
Welcome relief to the late but hot north east summer. Shower us with ‘em blogland rain.

And thank you for the wishes. I’m kinda used to the rain now. Every year in high school, I’d make plans to wear my brand-new or newly-starched school uniform (in years when I didn’t grow up enough to deserve a new one) and baantofy chocolates to kids of assorted shapes and sizes. Then, exactly *one* day before the big event, the rain gods would declare that the monsoons should begin .. and i’d instead go to school looking like a soggy noodle at the bottom of a soup bowl. So the cloudy skies and lack of sunshine in Boston brings back childhood memories :)
If past limericks are anything to go by, I look forward to the udhaar :)

No the monsoons have not yet come. But pre monsoon drizzles have started, making life more difficult with quite a humid weather. SO they r abt to wet India. Howz life there. Away from desh how does it feel. I m quite fascinated abt visiting the states, but i guess once u reach there u feel INDIA ( DESH ) is the best. Ok Bye. Take care.

[Anuj] Yeah, the classic ‘grass is always greener on the other side‘ funda, I guess. Life is quite nice out here, so I cannot really complain. I’ve been living here for some time now, so i’m used to it, for better or for worse. But it is tough to draw comparisons to life back home in India. They each have their own merits, I guess. Ultimately, home is where the heart is, as they say, so it doesn’t matter where you physically live, it is where you are in your heart, that counts.
Hope the monsoons arrive soon and bring you some much needed relief! Cheers!
