This was a reminder for the other souls who haven’t done it, not for people like you who had already done it :) I am pretty sure you are right – don’t remember Asrani being in the ECE ad at all. And of course, one can never forget the Bajaj ads :) Ab main bilkul boodha hoon, goli khaakar jeeta hoon, lekin aaj bhi ghar ke andar .. *ting ting ting ting ting* .. roshni hota Bajaj! :) And yes, I do remember ‘Quile ka rahasya‘ vividly! I got reasonably scared when I accidentally watched a few episodes and mom promptly yelled at me for staying up so late :)

As far as that ad is concerned, I remember it just a lil. I remember the Laxman Sylvania ad with asrani more and i think thats the ad Paddy is confusing it with or was asrani in ECE ad too? Actually, I associate the asrani ad with a show called “Kile ka Rahasya”. It was a mystery show that used to air on DD on tuesday late night (which means 10:30pm cos it was considered just tooo late back then) and this was always the last ad before the show began. (If u remember, ads were shown before the show started back then and we still watched the ads :D )

I also remember the “jab main chhota bachcha tha” – bajaj tubes and bulbs ad.
